Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW)
- Has passed Master Social Work Exam
- Master's Degree in Social Work required
- Renewal required every 2 years
- 30 hours of Continuing Education required
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Has passed Clinical Social Work Exam
- Master's Degree in Social Work required
- Renewal required every 2 years
- 3,000 hours of supervised expereince in field
- 30 hours of Continuing Education required
Licensed Ba. of Social Work (LBSW)
- Has passed Bachelor's Social Work Exam
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work required
- Renewal required every 2 years
- 30 hours of Continuing Education required

Maintaining Licensure in MO
- Licenses expire biannually on Sept. 30
- 30 hours of Continuing Education including 3 hours of ethics required every 2 years
- Licensees must keep proof of attendance of Continuing Education
- New licenses less than 2 years qualify for pro-rated Continuing Education
- State income tax must have been filed & paid for the previous 3 years
- Correct address must be on file with state committee

Non-Active, Lapsed/Expired Licenses in MO
- Nonactive status request can be made in writing. Renewal form, fee and continuing education or test results required to become active again
- 1-60 days late renewal is a lapsed license; 61 + days is expired
- Restoration fee, renewal fee and proof of continuing education for each month required for restoring lapsed or expired license
- Without a license, one may not: practice
