In this workshop, participants will:
Be able to describe ways in which the substance abusing person affects other members of the family.
Gain a deeper understanding of systems theory as it applies to “dysfunctional” families.
Understand what is meant by SUDs being a “family disease”.
Be able to explain why and how to include families of patients in treatment.
Develop strategies to help family members to improve their own coping.
