Patricia Kyle Dennis, PhD, LCSW will be presenting on Eating Disorders

When someone has an eating disorder, it can be tempting to start by helping them normalize their eating. This does not take into account the very complex causes of an eating disorder; nor does it respect that the symptoms we are taking away may serve important psychological functions for the individual. If we are going to offer effective, evidence-based psychotherapy, it is crucial to understand etiology. This workshop will update you on what we have learned about causes since eating disorders became prevalent in the 1960’s.
