Speaking of Suicide

Megan Woods, LPC will present on Speaking of Suicide.

This presentation will look at the date regarding rising suicide rates in the United States in order to understand the scope of the problem.  The trends identified on the macro-level will guide into a discussion of risk assessment tools available for clinicians to use to identify individuals who may be at a risk for dying by suicide.  Best practices for safety planning will be reviewed, as well as other interventions to treat suicidality. The presentation will end by examining what can be done to end the stigma around speaking about suicide in affected individuals, families, and communities.
