This session will discuss how to identify a person at risk of suicide. Then look at how to address a person with those thoughts: ask the question about suicide, listen to the story about suicide, hear the person’s uncertainty towards suicide, and guide them toward safety. Once we get them to look at safety, we will work with them on a collaborative safety plan. We will look at different skills that can be used by the person with thoughts of suicide to inform this practice. Lastly, we will do some experiential role-playing to practice all the participants take in this day.
