Courtney Baker, PhD, will present on Trauma in Relationships.  This presentation will cover the way past trauma and attachment injuries can impact current partnerships. We will examine the specific ways PTSD symptoms and attachment traumas affect the partners, both individually and as unit. Using an Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) perspective we will discuss ways to work with couples on building secure bonds.  Power pointe, some video clips, and clinical discussions will be used. Specific objectives include getting a deeper understanding of the way trauma affects attachment security, understand more about the interrelationship between sense of self and attachment, and find new ways to clinically intervene in these cases.
